Editorial Process

The Editorial Process is a vital part of ensuring the quality and integrity of the articles published in the African Journal of Dairy Farming and Milk Production. Below is a detailed overview of the steps involved in our editorial workflow:

  1. Submission of Manuscript
Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts through our online submission system. Each submission must adhere to our guidelines, including formatting and ethical standards.
  1. Initial Screening
Upon receiving a manuscript, the editorial team conducts an initial screening. This stage involves checking for plagiarism, adherence to submission guidelines, and relevance to the journal's scope. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage.
  1. Peer Review Process
Once a manuscript passes the initial screening, it is sent for peer review. We employ a double-blind review process, where both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. This ensures an unbiased evaluation of the manuscript. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the relevant field, and they provide constructive feedback.
  1. Editorial Decision
After receiving feedback from the reviewers, the editor evaluates the comments and recommendations. The editorial team then makes one of the following decisions:
    • Accept: The manuscript is accepted with no further changes.
    • Minor Revisions: The authors are asked to make small changes before resubmission.
    • Major Revisions: Significant modifications are required, and the authors are invited to revise and resubmit.
    • Reject: The manuscript does not meet the journal's standards or scope.
  1. Revisions and Resubmission
If revisions are requested, authors must address the reviewers' comments and submit a revised manuscript along with a response letter outlining how they have addressed each point raised during the review.
  1. Final Review and Acceptance
The revised manuscript may be sent back to the original reviewers for a final assessment. If the revisions meet the required standards, the manuscript will be accepted for publication.
  1. Proofreading and Publication
Once accepted, the manuscript undergoes a final proofreading stage to correct any typographical or formatting errors. Authors will receive the proofs for final approval before the article is published in the journal.
  1. Post-Publication
After publication, the article will be available as open access, ensuring that it reaches a wide audience. Authors are encouraged to promote their work through various platforms to enhance visibility and impact.

This editorial process is designed to maintain the highest standards of academic integrity and to ensure that published research contributes significantly to the field of dairy farming and milk production. We appreciate the commitment of our authors, reviewers, and readers in making our journal a valuable resource for the scientific community.
